Negative Perception Regarding Cryptocurrency and How It Can Be Replaced With the Idea of Global Financial Harmony

The idea of digital currency that is created and managed through advanced technology, including its moniker – “cryptocurrency” has been engulfed in a seemingly impenetrable bubble of confusion that prevents the average investor from fully grasping its characteristics. Understanding has instead been replaced with the prospect of speculative profits for some, and by trepidation for others. Considering the volatility of the cryptocurrency market and the “super-normal” growth of certain digital currencies – it may appear that the future will remain firmly in the grasp of paper money. This paper describes the fundamental economic characteristics of cryptocurrencies, and attempts to present a simplified view of the technology behind them – with the proposition that greater awareness may eventually lead to positive perception, stability in prices and eventually a paradigm shift in terms of
how we view money itself.
